“Questions of the History of World Architecture” is a peer-reviewed Open Access academic periodical, one of the leading journals in the field of the history and theory of architecture. Its articles represent the most recent work in the field: they cover all eras in the development of world architecture and town planning, with a focus on vexed questions of history, architectural creativity, the origins of architectural forms, as well as on the interactions between regional traditions.

The periodical has been published since 1961 by the Scientific Research Institute of Theory and History of Architecture and Urban Planning (NIITIAG), branch of the Central Institute for Research and Design of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation. It is published twice annually since 2016.

Naming and content of rubrics in the publication correspond scientific disciplines and groups of scientific specialties conforming to the Nomenclature of scientific specialties, upon which the academic degrees are conferred and which was approved on 25.02.2009 by the order № 59 of Russia Ministry of Education and Science (in the wording of Orders of that Ministry of 11.08.2009 № 294, of 16.11.2009 № 603, of 10.01.2012 № 5, of 20.02.2015 № 114):
